MCS Details

Our MCS Umbrella `scheme allows plumbing and heating engineers who don`t  hold MCS accreditation provide their customers with a fully MCS accredited heat pump installation, without the need of gaining MCS accreditation themselves. 

 

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the industry standard for design and installation of heat pumps. It is an independent scheme that certifies heat pump equipment and installers to maintain high standards within the industry. 

 

MCS umbrella schemes like ours enable homeowners of qualifying installations to access financial incentives like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), as well as the confidence that the heat pump has been sized correctly to meet their heating needs.

 

For homeowners making the switch from a traditional heating system to a heat pump, our MCS umbrella scheme gives them the freedom to use their own trusted local plumbing and heating engineer for the installation. This could be the heating professional who installed the existing heating system, who already knows that property and system far better than a new installer.

We will design and specify the best heat pump for the property, and once the system is installed, we will complete the MCS compliance commission, ensuring the heat pump installation fully meets MCS standards.

Our process of the MCS Umbrella Service

This service is only available to Heating, Plumbing and Electrical Installers.

​

  1. Submit the Property details with our Heat pump estimate tool to check property suitability for a heat pump system, this will use data from the property EPC and provide an estimated size for the Heat Pump installation.

  2. Once you`ve registered, we set up your projects account on our App, and each installation is managed through our App.

  3. We send you a link to your property survey.

  4. You complete the property survey through our easy survey tool, you can even choose your own radiator sizes.

  5. We apply for the DNO application.

  6. We contact your Homeowner and issue your installation contract

  7. We apply for the BUS grant on the behalf of the Homeowner.

  8. You purchase your Heat Pump equipment from your chosen supplier, nationwide merchant or your local merchant that's your choice, we do supply equipment, unless your require this then we are happy to provide a quotation

  9. ​You carry out the installation of the Heat Pump and monitor install through our App. You also follow our essential installation guide to stay compliant with MCS and Heat Pump Installation requirements.

  10. We commission the Heat Pump.

  11. We create the MCS certificate and Handover pack.

  12. We redeem the BUS grant and send to the homeowner.
