Our MCS process and how to join our network

Installer requirements.

​What do you we need to gain access to the MCS Umbrella Heat Pump service?

  1. Minimum 2 Years experience in Heating systems

  2. G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification 

  3. Two million pounds of public liability insurance 

  4. Completed the basic Heat Pump installation of your chosen manufacturer ie;  Vaillant, Grant, Daikin, Samsung, Ideal etc

Upload project enquiry

Upload the property details and confirm property construction and upload plans if available. We send you an estimated Heat Pump size within a few hours.

Send homeowner estimate

From our estimating tool you can then send your customer an estimate based on the current EPC. We can provide you some guidelines on installation pricing

The site survey

We carry out the full room by room heat loss calculations and site survey to include Heat Pump location, electrics, water and radiator sizing, we provide a full kit list of Heat Pump, cylinder and accessories.

Installer provides final quotation

Installer produces a final quotation for the supply and installation of the system, and obtains equipment quotation from their local merchant, we require a copy of the equipment quote to track the supply.

Applying Boiler upgrade grant

We complete the £7,500 BUS Grant application , the homeowner provides information to support, such as current address, for self-build application we require proof of ownership and self funding evidence. once the voucher has been issued the installation must be completed within 3 months.

Contracts and MCS paperwork

Based on the installer quotation we produce a joint contract to the homeowner including stage payment requirements. we also complete the DNO application for the heat pump installation. once the contract is signed and DNO approved the installation can commence

Purchase the Heat Pump

The installer purchases the heat pump from their local supply and delivers equipment to site. We require a copy of the invoice as evidence of purchase and delivery

The Heat Pump Installation 

Installers carry's out the full heat pump and cylinder installation, required radiators, plumbing and electrical works.

All parts of the installation must comply with our installer essential guide.

The Commissioning 

Once the installation is fully completed by the installer, we will arrange a site visit to  commission the Heat Pump system.

We will check the install complies with MCS standards, we will report any non-conformances which need to be rectified

The Handover  

Following commissioning we create the MCS certificate for the installation, redeem the BUS grant voucher, product warranty, building control notification and create the handover pack with full details of the project.
